The free-standing candelabra is suitable for taper/dinner candles, and it can be cleaned with a damp cloth for easy maintenance. Hand-crafted in 1997, this large, soul-filled Santa captures the true essence of traditional primitive design with his weathered textures and hand-quilted attire. The Details: Features a magnificent quilted red coat with homespun fabric patches, a raw wool beard, and hand-stitched facial features. He carries a bundle of real twigs and evergreen sprigs on his back. Provenance: Hand-signed and dated “Nancy Krueger 1997″ on the inner leg (see photos). Condition: Excellent Primitive Condition. Intentionally aged and distressed as part of the artist’s style. If such an item is in excellent condition and still has an original price tag, original packaging and in some cases the original box we will show it as a new item but describe it as “new old stock”. We obtain our items through yard sales, storage sales, individuals, pickers that we use, auctions and various other means. We do not know the history of the items we obtain as to how it was stored, who previously owned it, etc. We do research every item but are not experts on every item obtained. VINTAGE FOLK ART SANTA DRIVING DRESDEN STAR AUTOMOBILE. MADE BY STACY BEAR ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO. Measures 4 1/2″ tall and is 6″ long. Made of Cotton Batting. In the auto is an off white Bottle Brush Tree and some Vintage Flowers and Flower Picks. On Each side of the car there is Dresden Trim and a Dresden Star and the wheels are highlighted with silver tinsel. Look close and you can see the steering wheel. This is a stunning pair of vintage wooden angel candle holders in the traditional Erzgebirge style – a folk art form originating from the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge) region of Germany. Beautifully hand-painted with stylized features, each angel holds two taper candles and has painted tin wings, a red ribbon motif, and a charming, rustic finish. These likely date to the mid-20th century and remain in excellent vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age. The Erzgebirge Backstory (for collectors & newcomers). In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Erzgebirge region was known for its mining industry.
